What to Expect From a D&C for Early Miscarriage

A D&C, or dilation and curettage, is one of the most common surgical procedures performed on women. It's often used to complete a miscarriage in cases where the uterus fails to fully empty the contents of a failed pregnancy. The procedure to induce an abortion before the 12th week of pregnancy is performed in a similar manner.
